Our dedicated rural centre, spread over 6.75 acres, has been carefully designed around the needs of our clients, our work and our horses. The location is ideally suited for both equine-assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted learning, providing an environment in which horses and humans can work together peacefully and positively.
We are surrounded by beautiful Pennine scenery and forestry, adjacent to a lake and nature reserve. We regularly encounter geese, curlew and deer. Because we strongly believe in working with nature, rather than against it, we’re cultivating a natural, ethical environment to provide the most advantageous backdrop for our work.
Client therapy and development work take place at our outdoor arena, while space for rest, refreshments and shelter is provided by a semi-permanent office (thereby avoiding a permanent development on the site). We also provide shelter for our horses, but there are no stables because we encourage the horses to live a totally natural life as a family herd.
