Mental-health issues in the workplace
HorseThinking combines our expertise in both equine-assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted learning to support individuals in the workplace who are struggling with issues related to their mental health.
These can fall into two categories:
mental-health issues which originate in the workplace — perhaps as a result of stress, burn-out or the effects of bullying (whether as victim or perpetrator)
mental-health issues which have an effect on the workplace — for example, problems with anger or impulse control, alcohol or drug dependency/addiction, or depression.
In both cases, employers may wish to take an active role in enabling employees to address these issues, helping them to develop not only as individuals but also as professionals and employees. As behaviour and attitudes improve, this has a positive knock-on effect for colleagues in the wider workplace.
We work with managers and human resources departments to address a wide range of mental-health issues for their employees at every level of the organisation, including senior executives. The effectiveness of our short-term programme means that we offer excellent value compared with traditional techniques which may be open-ended and therefore difficult to cost and measure.
