Living with a long-term condition or illness (including physical disability, mental illness and learning difficulties) can take its toll on the emotional and mental wellbeing of both sufferers and their carers. A particular issue with long-term conditions is that it is possible to become ‘stuck’ in attempting to deal with their effects, and it can be difficult to make positive progress.
Long-term conditions & EAP
Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) provides a safe, gentle and effective way to address the effects of long-term conditions for both suffers and their carers. This can include boosting self-esteem and confidence, as well as addressing any negative attitudes or behaviours which may be inhibiting progress. Discover how EAP works.
Our EAP programme
Our EAP programme can be used on its own or in conjunction with conventional therapies (where it can help to reinvigorate the psychotherapy process). It is a relatively short-term intervention, with 6 to 8 one-hour sessions normally sufficient, thereby offering outstanding value.
