Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) is a safe, gentle, credible and effective method for treating a very wide range of mental and physical health conditions. We work with NHS and private-sector commissioners, directly with individuals, and alongside other therapies delivered by other providers. Our services are delivered by qualified psychotherapists and horse specialists, and we are EAGALA-certified.
EAP and mental-health issues
Equine-assisted psychotherapy helps people to understand, own and address their mental-health issues. These could include anxiety and depression; the psychological effects of abuse, long-term health conditions or unemployment; post-traumatic stress disorder; eating disorders; and much more.
EAP and long-term conditions
Our work supports people living with a wide range of long-term conditions and disabilities, enabling them to face life positively and proactively and to understand the impact which they, themselves, can have on their quality of life.
EAP and dependency/substance abuse
Therapy involving proximity with horses can be an effective technique in addressing the abuse of, or dependency on, alcohol, drugs and other substances.
Referrals from health professionals
We take referrals from GPs and other psychotherapists. Often, equine-assisted psychotherapy can be helpful in reinvigorating a therapy situation which has lost momentum, or which has reached a point at which the client is struggling to express themselves.
