Assertiveness & personal development
A lack of assertiveness or confidence can hold talented individuals back at any level of the organisation. Furthermore, it can prevent employers from getting a good return on their investment in recruitment, training and development.
Using equine-assisted learning (EAL) techniques, we work with employees (as individuals or in small groups) to help identify the possible causes for shyness or lack of confidence and assertiveness, and then to find ways of addressing the issues.
Our one-day programmes involve working with horses to enable individuals to see the effect of their feelings or behaviours on others, and to learn how to adapt those feelings or behaviours in order to bring about positive change. Discover more about equine-assisted learning.
Since these are short, discrete interventions, they offer excellent value for employers when compared with traditional approaches, such as counselling, which may be open-ended (thus making it difficult to project total costs). Furthermore, the unusual nature of working out of doors with large animals can have a far greater impact on the individual than activities based in the classroom or consulting room.
